PRSSA’s The Future of Communications in a Changed World panel—April 25th, 2020

On April 25th, 2020 I attend PRSSA’s The Future of Communications in a Changed World panel. The panel consisted of Moderator Ray Day, Vice Chair, The Stagwell Group, and former Chief Communications Officer at Ford and IBM; panelist Bonin Bough, Chief Growth Officer, Bonin Ventures, and former Chief Media Officer, Mondelez; panelist Craig Buchholz, Chief Communications Officer, General Motors; panelist Jano Cabrera, Chief Communications Officer, General Mills; panelist Tara Carraro, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Nestle Waters; and panelist Michael Sneed, Chief Communications Officer, J&J.

The panelists focused on how the field of communications will and has already changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which became prevalent in the United States in March 2020 and is still ongoing. One panelist discussed how society’s psyche has changed due to this pandemic and this will have lasting effects on how we communicate with the public. Emphasis should be put on constant reinvention to produce our best work. The world constantly changes, so communications strategy and efforts should too. A pertinent question that was raised by the moderator is: when looking back, what did you do during the pandemic? One should have an answer to that question that he or she should be proud of.

So, my question for you is: what are you doing to make yourself proud during this time?
